Registration Requirements:
-
Only open to students who have
participated in the Unicorn’s Play or Pre-school programs during
2005-2006.

Tuition must be paid in full at the
start of each month with two options:
$85.00/month for two (2)
mornings per week (Tuesday and Thursday) and
$125.00/month for three (3) mornings per week. (Monday, Wednesday &
Friday)
-
There are only 2 opening per group
and will be served on a first come, first served basis.
-
You are financially responsible for
the weeks chosen, even if your child does not attend.
#1 June 26th -30th
Red, White and the Unicorn - Celebrate everything Canada the
beaver, the looney, the Maple leaf, hockey, special Canadianisms, eh? What
do you think of when you think Canada– lots and lots of red and white.
#2 July 3rd – 7th Orientation Week – a
time to welcome all of our new friends to the Unicorn Children’s Centre,
to familiarize all with the classroom environment, the playground, our own
nature park; becoming accustomed to safety rules, routines, transitions,
participating in the learning centres, establishing warm and lasting
relationships with their clasmates and teachers. Outing: St. Ansleme Park
Playground & Picnic snack (Rotary Park).
#3 July 10th – 14th From Caterpillars to
Butterflies - Children explore the process of the metamorphosis
from caterpillar to butterfly through art, music and story and a field
trip to Moncton Butterfly World where they experience hundreds of
butterflies in flight and perched on plants and shrubs! We observe the
many Chrysalis waiting to be transformed into the colorful butterflies.
Par-T-Perfect will provide a fun opportunity to experience this
transformation with the use of their gross motor equipment.
#4 July 17th – 21st Jumpin’ Jelly Beans
– a games week
Gym time /Run & jump/ Mini fun sports day --Bike day, Musical chairs,
Dance competition, Longest ball kick, Best throw, Fanciest jump, Capture
the flag, Gamingpalloza, Swimming
#5 July 24th – 28th Bubbles, muddles & puddles
- Make goop, play dough, slime, salt dough pictures, experience
a Bubble day (Chew bubble gum, Make bubble solution, try it out, an do a
Gum machine craft). Experience and rejoice in rain -Measure rain fall this
week (with a jar left out), Go puddle jumping (splash, splash), Make mud
pies (inside or out) and do many puddle crafts. Outing this week to the
beach at Waterside for beachcombing.
#6 July 31st – Aug. 4th Sky’s the limit
– Calling all Astronomers – look up way up and what do you see………………. Look
to the stars, planets, big or little dipper, gravity, orbit and more. You
will need to know your sign so we can tell you your fortune…………
#7 Aug. 7th – 11th Special Science Adventure week
- A fun filled interactive week all about science – inventing, creating
and experimenting – now all you Mad Scientists -don’t blow up the Unicorn
now! Our special activity this week will be special guest scientists who
will come and complete different hair raising experiments with you.
#8 August 14th – 18th Alphabet soup -
A great, wonderful amazing language and literacy week, filled with
letters, words, rhyming and fun. Shelley sells seashells by the
seashore……. We will be going all kinds of games and activities that sound
like a lot of fun. Our outing this week will be a trip to the Moncton
Library, to check out the books.
#9 Aug. 21st – 25th Trains Autos, Boats….
A great way to say “Bon Voyage” to an exciting and fun-filled summer as we
explore popular forms of travel; the wheels on the Codiac Transit will
take us “round and round” the town of Riverview and City of Moncton; we
travel on Via Rail to Sackville and back to Moncton on the Unicorn van to
round out the week.
#10 Aug. 28th – Sept. 1st Van Gogh and friends!
– Children will explore art through various media – have fun with finger
painting, forms of clay, easels and brushes to create unique and special
expressions of creativity – Remember the process, not the product, is the
thing; we shall present our very own art gallery to wrap up the week!
